CINCINNATI (April 24, 2019) - Congratulations to CUP DA players Drew Boettcher, Paul Chen, Tre Jervier, Ashton Kamdem, Alen Kapic and Adal Salinas for being invited to attend the U.S. Soccer Youth National Team Identification Center today in Obetz, Ohio. Drew, Ashton and Alen are current members of the U15 CUP DA team; Tre and Adal play for the U14 CUP DA team; and Paul is a part of the U13 CUP DA team.
According to U.S. Soccer, these “YNT Identification Centers (IDCs) are free, single-day player identification opportunities for top talents to train and play games under the direction of U.S. Soccer Talent Identification Managers. IDC's are a critical element to [U.S. Soccer’s] Talent Identification Plan and are designed to identify and evaluate top talents for Youth National Teams, while accelerating their development in a challenging environment.”
CUP DA Academy Director Scott Bower expressed the club's excitement over the invitations: "We are glad to see our players once again highlighted among the best in Ohio. We are proud of these young men and happy to continue providing opportunities at the highest level for our players. This will be a great developmental experience for them, and we look forward to continued exposure for our players as a part of the Development Academy."
As the lone club in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area represented in these YNT ID Center invitations, CUP DA continues to provide the best opportunities for elite players in the region.
Cincinnati United Premier was designated as a Development Academy Member Club in 2017, with U12 through U14 age groups participating in the 2017-2018 season. The CUP DA program was expanded in its second year, with the addition of the U15 age group for the 2018-2019 season. CUP DA offers top-quality training and competition for the area’s top male players and is the lone U.S. Soccer Development Academy Member Club for the Cincinnati area. Additionally, CUP DA is one of only a few such clubs in the region (Indy Fire & Columbus Crew).
