Rose Lavelle Earns First Cap; Named Player of the Match

CUP/Cincinnati United alum Rose Lavelle made her senior US Women's National Team Debut on Saturday, March 4.

Rose started the match in game two of the She Believes Cup and played all 90 minutes, earning her first cap for the USWNT. For her play in the match, Lavelle was named the Woman of the Match.

"We are very proud of Rose for her earning her first cap and start for the US Women's National Team," said CUP Girls Director of Coaching, Bobby Puppione. "She had a quality performance, playing the whole game, and showcasing the quality she brings with her technical skill, decision making, and overall play. We couldn't be prouder of one of our own. It is great to see a former CUP player showcasing her talents at the highest international level. We look forward to more caps in her future."

In January, she was drafted as the #1 overall pick by the Boston Breakers in the NWSL Professional Draft.
