2010 Ohio State Cup

Cincinnati United has 5 Champions and 5 Finalists at Ohio South State Cup, along with 1 Champion and 3 Finalists at Ohio South President's Cup

Cincinnati United had 33 boys and girls teams competing in the Round of 16 of the 2010 Ohio South State Cup. After seeing 23 teams advance to the Round of 8 and 15 of those teams make it to the Semi-Final Round, they had 9 teams earn their place in the Finals; the most of any Club and they saw themselves represented in every Final for the Boys U-11 through U-18 age groups; an incredible and unmatched achievement! When it was all said and done, Cincinnati United would see its teams win 5 State Cup Titles.  They then saw the U-19 Men win their semi-final, but come up just short in the final, giving them their 5th finalist.  Cincinnati United would also see 4 of its teams in the Finals for the President's Cup, resulting in another Champion to total 6 on the day.  Congratulations to all of our Teams and to all of the Players, Coaches, and Trainers.

CUP Product Parissa Eyorokon Chosen 23rd in WPS Draft

Parissa EyorokonFormer Cincinnati United Premier player Parrissa Eyorokon was selected by the Washington Freedom with the second pick of the fourth round, 23rd overall, Friday during the Women's Professional Soccer draft in St. Louis, Missouri. Eryokon, who joined the Lakota Panthers coached by Dr. Larry Staubach at eleven years old, started her career with our organization by leaving a team that had just won the “A” division that Fall. Parissa’s parents felt the training environment for long-term success was superior with the Lakota Soccer Club (a parent of Cincinnati United).

Parissa’s special talents and a fantastic developmental environment catapulted her individual career to the elite level at all ages. She helped lead the Lakota and CUP Panthers to elite tournament championships such as the CASL Shootout, Disney Invitational, and Columbia Invitational. In addition, the Panthers were National Finalists at the Kellogg Cup and State Cup finalists multiple times. Parissa continued her time with CUP through our U23 program, concluding it on the field in the U23 Regional Championships with many of her life-long CUP teammates, including former professional (Norway) Lindsey Carstens.

Eyorokon, who lettered for the Boilermakers from 2004-07, was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, the first Boilermaker to win that honor, and became the first Purdue player to be named first-team All-American in 2007.

Washington will play its home games at the Maryland SoccerPlex Stadium. Washington also will play three of its 10 games at RFK Stadium in doubleheaders with DC United of the MLS. Eyorokon was just selected to play with the U23 Women’s National Team in Spain. To read more about Parissa, please visit the Washington Freedom website at http://www.womensprosoccer.com/dc/default.aspx

CUP Girls Update

CUP Girls Continue to Excel in College and Professionally

CUP has and is continuing to produce incredible amounts of college players and even professional players. This past fall was especially special, with scores of CUP players competing in college and even professionally. The CUP program provides an environment that propels players into college programs that compete at some of the highest levels in the country. CUP also provides a high level training environment for these players in the summer through our U23 program. We are proud of all of our girls that have reached their goal, goals that for many of them were set at a very early age and reached by playing in our program throughout most of their careers.

Former CUP Player and former University of Illinois captain and current record-holder Lindsey Carstens’ has qualified for the Euro Cup in 2009 playing for Team Stromnen. Playing professionally in Norway, Lindsey has experienced playing at one of the highest professional levels in the world. Recently Lindsey joined eleven 2008 Olympic athletes to compete in the Norway Cup finals. Lindsey played for Lakota and CUP since she was nine years old.

University of Dayton senior captain and midfielder Amanda Gallow was named a second team selection when the 2008 ESPN ‘The Magazine’ Academic All-America® Women's Soccer Teams were announced Tuesday. Amanda played for Lakota and CUP since she was eight years old.

"I think there are only a couple of players on the team, or maybe it's just her, who have played every minute of every game so far this season, which include some overtime games," University of Alabama Head Coach Bramble says about Colleen Posey. Bramble continues “Posey looks to establish herself as the leader of Alabama's protective unit” Colleen played for Sycamore and CUP since she was eight years old.

University of Louisville has announced that Jessica Mello has been named Third Team All-BIG EAST. Overall, Mello has played in 78 games as a Cardinal, which ranks second in school history, while her 76 career starts ranks third all-time at U of L. Jessica played for CUP for six years.

Denison University Senior Sarah Ash is beginning to rack up awards again. After being named NSAA/Adidas First Team All-American in 2007, she was just named to the 2008 ESPN ‘The Magazine’ Academic All-American team. Sarah played for Sycamore and CUP since she was eight years old.

Please read on to learn about the accomplishments of our players. Awards continue to be announced and this list will evolve over time, and we will continue to gather information.
