In the Spotlight--Recent Success

 
 

The CU Sycamore- Mason U9B Sao Paulo team finished as champions of the Red division of the adidas Warrior Fall Classic (10/24-10/25). After a group play loss, the boys put forth a fantastic effort to make it to the finals. In the finals, they took Crew SC East Gold U9 to overtime, where they proceeded to convincingly win the match 5-3. Congratulations to the boys, trainer/coach Juan Laverde and assistant coach Tony Ripberger!

The CU Sycamore-Mason U11 Boys Chivas team finished as finalist in the top division of the Forest Park Star Invitational this past weekend.  They only allowed 2 goals and scored 10 on their way to the very tough finals matchup.  Congratulations to the boys, trainer/coach Tim Brown and assistant coach Brent Kuhlman! 

The U9 boys Cruzeiro team (Syc-Mason) brought home the championship title in the top flight of the Indianapolis FC Pride Cup (10/03-04).  The boys scored 27 goals with 0 scored against them.  Congratulations to the boys on a great weekend! 

The CU Sycamore-Mason U11 Boys Chivas team finished as champions of the Black division of the Haunted Classic this past weekend.  After an early loss, the boys regrouped and put forward a great effort to make it to the finals.  They pulled out a tough final match 1-0 against the Gunners FC (OH) team. Congratulations to the boys,  trainer/coach Tim Brown and assistant coach Brent Kuhlman!

CU Sycamore-Mason U9 boys - Arsenal - Monday, June 01, 2015
 

CU Sycamore-Mason Arsenal U9B are 2015 Champions of the Pacesetter Soccer Invitational Bronze Division. After dropping points in a (6-4) Loss in the first match, the boys show resilience by winning their next two group matches with a +8 GD and Advancing to a tightly contested Final. Down 3-1 at half, the boys rallied to a 5-5 draw at the end of regulation. The boys pushed on to win 7-6 in the final moments of extra time. The Team is coached by Brian Page, Todd Kelly & Bill Simpson and includes Lucas Bishop, Jacob Evans, Rolyn Hartford, Noah Kelly, Carson Kennedy, Bryce Page, Jackson Potter, Ian Simpson & Juan Pablo Travino.

   

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U10 boys - River Plate - Thursday, May 21, 2015
 

Congratulations to CU Sycamore-Mason U10 Boys River Plate team for winning the U11 Gold Boys division of the Kolping Tournamet (May 16-17).  The boys scored 39 goals while only allowing 4. The team is coached & trained by Jason Arszman.  

 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U8 boys - Internacional - Thursday, May 21, 2015
 

Congratulations to CU Sycamore-Mason Internacional, for winning the 2015 Kolping Seth Stevens Memorial U8 Boys Silver Division!  Over the weekend the team went 4-0, with 11 goals scored while only giving up 3 goals. They played some tough competition, but came out on top in every game.  We are proud of our boys!

  

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U10 boys - Independiente - Sunday, May 03, 2015
  Congrats to Independiente on a strong finish in the CU elite tourney! Despite the tough 2-1 loss in the final, I think it was the best team play I've seen from them all year.  They ran for each other, worked as a unit all over the field, and, as is their trademark, they never gave up.  As individuals, they showed their quality and used their training.  As I told them, they are better players and a better team than when we started yesterday morning. 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U10 girls - Dortmund - Sunday, May 03, 2015
 

The CU Sycamore-Mason U10 Girls Dortmund team finished 1st in the top U10 division at the Ohio Elite Spring Classic. After a strong Saturday showing, they won both the semi-finals and the finals in penalty kicks, defeating some tough competition. Daysia Thompson (not pictured) made 4 saves in the finals to secure the win! Great weekend girls!

 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U10 boys - Atletico - Monday, April 20, 2015
  The CU Sycamore-Mason U10 Boys Atletico team finished as Champions of the 6v6 Gold division of the 30th Annual MASC tournament this past weekend.  The team scored 14 goals while only allowing 5.  The boys went undefeated for the round robin tournament that came down to the 3rd tie-breaker (goals against) to determine the champions.  Congratulations to the boys, trainer Ross McIntosh, and head coach Brent Kuhlman! 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U9 girls - Celtic - Monday, April 20, 2015
 

The GU9 Celtic team won the Middletown Spring Blast Tournament (3/21 & 3/22) The team made their way to the finals with a 2-1 record beating FC United and Thunder FC.  In the finals they faced a very skilled FOSC team beating them 3-0.   It was a great weekend and all the girls played extremely well especially given the temperature and it being their first time on grass since the fall.  The team is coached by Cory Dan & Heather Vibberts and includes Ava Overdeck, Julia Lemmons, London Brown, Payton Evans, Aashna Bhargava, Lauren Young, Samantha Vibberts, Katie Woycke & Kelsey Foley. 

 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U14 boys - Gremio - Monday, April 20, 2015
 

Gremio U14 Sycamore-Mason boys went 3-1 at the 2015 MASC tournament in the Silver division. They ended the weekend as finalists scoring 12 goals and conceding 5. Congrats to the boys! We're off to Nashville, TN in the next weekend to play in the TN United Cup of Champions. Best of luck!


 
CU Sycamore-Mason U15 girls - Samba - Monday, April 20, 2015
  Congrats to CU Sycamore-Mason Samba GU15.  They won the Gold division of the MASC Tournament.  We won all 4 of our games and won on PK's in the finals after 2 OT periods against a really good team from Indiana.  Way to go girls!

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U8 boys - Internacional - Monday, April 20, 2015
  We are Champions of the U8 boys Gold Division in the 2015 MASC tournament!  We finished 3-0-1 in a round robin style tournament, which included all 1st or 2nd teams for the competing clubs.  The boys played some very tough competition, but we came out on top.  We are very proud of Cincinnati United Internacional!  It was an excellent team effort by great group of boys.

 
CU Sycamore Mason U8 boys INTERNACIONAL - Thursday, October 30, 2014
  The U8 Internacional boys won the Dayton Warrior Classic! They had a great season with each player progressing and developing their game and most importantly they had fun and some great experiences that has fueled a passion and love for the game! Their coach and trainer, Juan Laverde, did a fantastic job with the boys this season and we look forward to the Spring session!

 
CU Sycamore Mason U12 Girls ATLETICO MADRID - Thursday, October 30, 2014
 

We are excited to let you know that the Sycamore Mason Girls U12 team Atletico Madrid won the Black division of the Forest Park Star Invitational tournament!  This was a huge win for our team as we were the underdogs going into the tournament with a very difficult bracket.  Our girls played like they have never played before all weekend and shut out the Kings Hammer Red Scorpions and CWSC Academy Elite both 1-0.  The girls tied KH Running Thunder in the 3rd game and then fought hard a second time against KH Running Thunder in the final.  After overtime play and penalty kicks, Atletico won 3-0.


 
CU Sycamore Mason U14 Boys MANCHESTER UNITED - Thursday, October 30, 2014
 

Cincinnati United Syc-Ma Manchester United U13 Boys and head coach Jeremy Pletz along with assistant coaches Tim Trapp and Jorge Cuautle won the top division of the Forest Park Star Invitational sweeping all three bracket games with a total score of 11 goals for and 2 goals against before winning the championship game 2-0.


 
CU Sycamore Mason U9 girls AJAX - Wednesday, October 22, 2014
 

The CU Sycamore Mason U9 Girls AJAX team were champions of the top flight of the BSA Haunted Classic the weekend of October 18-19.  For the weekend, the girls scored 22 goals while conceding 6.  In the finals, the girls were 7-2 winners over a physical Mansfield Crew team that had narrowly beaten them in the preliminary rounds.  We’re so proud of how they turned it around.  Congratulations to the girls and trainer/coach Katie Gaus!

CU Syc- Ma Valencia U10 girls were 2014 BSA Haunted Classic Champions in the GU12 Black Division.  They went undefeated with 4 wins scoring 9 goals and giving up only 2 goals with 3 Shutouts. They won the finals vs TFA Gold – 1-0.  Congrats to coach Joe McReynolds and trainer Tim Brown and the girls!

The Sycamore Mason U10 Boca Jr. boys won their division championship at BSA Haunted Classic.  Second tourney Championship win in two weeks.  All the boys played extremely well and as always Coach Phil Russell was proud.

 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U10 girls DORTMUND - Wednesday, October 22, 2014
 

Congratulations to the CU Sycamore Mason U10 Girls Dortmund team for their 1st place finish in the Blue Division at the BSA Haunted Classic Oct. 18-19. After a win and a tie Saturday, the team needed a shutout to make it through to the Finals and succeeded with 7-0 win over Thunder FC. They finished strong with a 4-3 win in the Championship game over Springboks White. Great work girls!

The CU Sycamore-Mason U10 Boys River Plate team finished as champions of the U10 8v8 Orange division of the BSA Haunted Classic (October 18-19).  The boys went undefeated for the weekend with wins over CUSA Crew Juniors Gold, NWC Black & Hoosier FC Wolves before defeating BSA Celtics White in the finals 4-1.  The boys are trained & coached by Jason Arszman and Assistant Coach Dick Arszman.  Congratulations on a great weekend boys!

 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U13 boys MANCHESTER UNITED - Tuesday, October 14, 2014
 

Congratulations to Cincinnati United Syc-Ma Manchester United U13 Boys and head coach Jeremy Pletz and assistant coaches Chris Nachtrab and Jorge Cuautle for placing second in the TFA Fall Ball Classic. They won all three bracket games in the Bronze Division by a combined score of 19-1 before succumbing in the championship match.

The CU Sycamore-Mason U10 Boys Atletico team finished as champions of the Silver division of the Cincy Challenge this past weekend.  The team scored 21 goals while only allowing 3.  The boys were undefeated for the weekend and pulled through in a tough final match 3-0 against Falls City (KY).  Congratulations to the boys, trainer Ross McIntosh, and coaches Ryan Burton and Brent Kuhlman!

 

 
CU Sycamore Mason U10 Girls SCHALKE - Tuesday, October 14, 2014
  The CU Sycamore Mason U10 Girls Schalke team brought home a championship from the Flag City Challenge in Findlay (Oct. 11-12). The girls went undefeated in their division and outscored their Ohio North opponents 30-4 including a 5-0 win in the Championship game. Congratulations to the girls on a successful weekend!

The Sycamore/Mason Boca Jr.’s went undefeated in the 2014 Cincy Challenge while winning their division.  They all played exceptionally well together.  Coach Phill Russell was extremely proud!  Congrats to the boys!

The CU Sycamore-Mason U10 Boys River Plate team finished as champions of the OP Invitational in Dublin (September 13-14).  The team scored 28 goals while only allowing 4.  The boys went undefeated for the weekend with wins over Northville Rush (MI), HFC (OH) and Waza (MI) before defeating OP Green (OH) in the final match 5-0.  Congratulations to the boys and trainer/ coach Jason Arszman!

The CU Sycamore Mason U10 Girls Bayern Munich are off to a great start this Fall season.  In Mead Cup bracket play their 2 early wins over OP Red and Cleveland United put them into the finals. They finished as Finalist falling to Cleveland FC in the finals.  Thanks Coach Katie and great job to the girls in battling 3 strong Cleveland teams!

 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U10 Boys INDEPENDIENTE - Sunday, September 07, 2014

Congrats to U10 Independiente and coach Jason on their finalist finish in the Mead Cup on Labor Day.  In the U10 6v6 Gold Division, they went undefeated in their bracket, defeating Madison United 7-3 and CUSA Crew Juniors 2-0.  They lost a hard-fought final game to OP Fire 4-2.

 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U10 Girls Bayern Munich - Sunday, September 07, 2014

The CU Sycamore Mason U10 Girls Bayern Munich had a strong showing as Champions of the CU Cup.  They went undefeated over the weekend outscoring their bracket opponents 33-3.  The final game was a hard fought game verses a league rival with a 2-0 victory for Bayern Munich.  Congratulations to coach Katie Gaus and the girls.

 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U13 Boys MANCHESTER UNITED - Wednesday, August 27, 2014

Congratulations to Cincinnati United Syc-Ma Manchester United U13 Boys for placing second in The Donatos Soccer Classic tournament to start their fall season. They won all three bracket games in the Serie B Group by a combined score of 10-1 defeating Crew Juniors West Gold, Canton United and Crews Juniors Black East before falling to the Crew Juniors South Gold team 3-2 in the final coming back from a 3-0 deficit. Kudos to Coach and Trainer Jeremy Pletz.

 

 
CU Sycamore Mason U9 Girls AJAX - Wednesday, August 27, 2014

The CU Sycamore Mason U9 Girls AJAX team started their fall season in fine fashion as champions of the CU CUP gold division the weekend of August 16-17.  The girls won some close games and overcame a tough TFA Elite team in the final.  The girls are trained and coached by Katie Gaus.  Excellent job girls!

 

 
CU Sycamore-Mason U8 boys CRUZIERO - Wednesday, August 27, 2014

The Sycamore - Mason U8 Cruziero boys team were runners up in the Boys U8/U9 Silver division at the recent CU CUP tournament. They went into the finals with a 3-0 record but lost to Cincinnati United Swansea U9 in the Finals.  Congrats to coach Jason Peters and the boys!

 

 
CU Sycamore Mason U14 Boys Santos - Wednesday, August 27, 2014

Congrats to the CU Sycamore Mason U14 Boys Santos Team who started their fall season as champions in the CSA dog days tournament on Aug 16,17.   They beat WC Elite (Top team), CSA Premier (Second team), and CSA Elite (U13 Top team) in group play then beat Southern Indiana United Red (IN) in the final.  Way to go Coach Mauricio and players!

CU Sycamore Mason U10 Boys JUVENTUS - Friday, May 30, 2014
The CU Sycamore-Mason U10 Boys JUVENTUS team won their final tournament of the season by winning the 8v8 Gold Division of the Troy Strawberry Soccer Invitational Tournament.  Juventus was 3-0 in divisional play with wins over NWC Alliance, Miami Scorpions, and Metro FC.   Juventus secured the title with a 4-1 win over Thunder United in the final.  Congrats to the boys coach George Knight and trainer Chris Hopkins. 
CU Sycamore Mason U12 Girls BRAZIL - Wednesday, December 18, 2013

The CU BRAZIL U12 girls finished the Fall season as co-champions of the Elite division of the Buckeye Premier League, posting a 7-1 record and finishing as top defense in the league with only 6 goals allowed and 5 shutouts in 8 games. It was a tough, competitive league, as the girls won five of their games by only one goal.  Outstanding season ! Congrats to the girls, trainer Ross McIntosh, and coaches Anthony Clerc and John Leugers.

The CU BRAZIL U12 girls continued a great fall season with a Finalist finish in the top division of the Haunted Classic Tournament. The girls won 2 (shut-outs) and tied one in very competitive bracket play, to earn their spot in the final. Congratulations to the girls, trainer Ross McIntosh and coaches Anthony Clerc and John Leugers on a great result.

The CU Sycamore Mason DYNAMO girls U13 team posted their second tournament win in the Fall season.  They took home championship trophies from the Forest Park STAR Invitational on Oct 27th by posting 4 shut-outs in the tournament.  The team scored 10 goals while allowing none!   Congratulations ladies. 
CU Sycamore Mason U9 Girls DORTMUND - Monday, October 28, 2013
The CU Sycamore Mason U9 Girls DORTMUND team won their first tournament this weekend with 3-2 victory over TFA Yellow at the Warrior Fall Classic. The team won their bracket by defeating the Lady Warrior SC and Pride Elite. The girls displayed a tremendous amount of effort in the finals to defeat a team who had beaten them 6-1 the previous day in a crossover game and their coaches, Claire Wiegand and Linda Burwinkel, couldn't be more proud. Congratulations to the girls on their first place finish!

The CU Sycamore Mason U9 boys RIVER PLATE team finished as finalists in the U10 top flight division of the BSA Haunted Classic the weekend of October 18-20.  Their defeat to the Crew Jrs. South was the team's first loss in 20 games.  Congratulations to the boys on a great weekend of soccer!  River Plate is trained & coached by Jason Arszman.

Kentucky Fire Juniors Tournament - U12 top division finalists
The CU Brazil U12 girls continued a great fall season with Finalists trophies at the Kentucky Fire Juniors tournament in Louisville. The girls beat KFJ (1-0) and Pumas FC (2-0), before conceding their first defeat of the season to a strong Javanon team in bracket play (3-1). In the final, the girls played Javanon again, putting up a great performance, loosing 2-1 in a hard fought game. Still, it was a excellent weekend, with tough competition and a great result for the tournament. Congratulations to the girls, trainer Ross McIntosh, and coaches Anthony Clerc and John Leugers. 
CU Sycamore Mason U14 Boys AJAX - Tuesday, October 15, 2013
Congratulations to the CU Sycamore-Mason AJAX (U14 Boys) on winning the championship of their division at the Crew Fall Classic over the weekend of October 5 and 6 in Columbus, Ohio.  The boys won all three games scoring 11 total goals while giving up only 5 goals.  The team is coached and trained by Ryan Burton.

The Sycamore Mason DYNAMO won the Championship in the Girls U13 Diamondback division of the
Hi-Five CIncy Challenge the weekend of Oct 13-14.  The Dynamo posted 3 shutouts and allowed only one goal to win the top trophy!  DYNAMO is coached by Denis Knific.  Congratulations Ladies! 
CU Sycamore Mason U8 Boys ARSENAL - Tuesday, October 15, 2013
Congratulations to the CU Sycamore-Mason ARSENAL U8 Boys, who were the 2013 Cincy Challenge Silver Division Champions. The team posted a record of 4-0 for the weekend, and along the way scored 38 goals (36 were reported). Most importantly, the boys exhibited terrific skill and spirit. The team is trained by Colin Mullaney and coached by Brian Page, Todd Kelly, and Billy Simpson.

The CU Mason-Sycamore U11 Girls VALENCIA team won their first tournament together as a new team.  We played in the 2013 Fall Kolping America Cup and went undefended for the weekend.  We played the CU Southeast GU11 Hornets in the finals.  Valencia is coached by Joe McReynolds and Trained by Tim Brown.  Congrats to both CU teams for a great weekend of Soccer!

The CU Sycamore Mason U10 Boys JUVENTUS team picked up their first tournament win of the season by winning the top flight of the Midfest Tournament in Middletown.  Juventus went 4-0, beating CSA Premier, Middletown Rogue Squadron, Crew Juniors Black, and Metro FC Rapids, with the Final against Metro FC decided in PK’s.  Congrats to the boys coach George Knight and trainer Chris Hopkins on the championship!

The CU Sycamore Mason U9 boys River Plate team picked up a tournament title last weekend by winning the top flight of the OP Invitational in Dublin.  The boys scored 25 goals while only allowing 2 to advance to the finals where they won 4-2 over OP U9 Green 1.  Congrats to the boys & coach/ trainer Jason Arszman on a great weekend!

The CU Sycamore Mason U9 boys River Plate team started their season off strong by winning the top flight of the U9 division at the Cincinnati United Cup in August.  The boys scored 33 goals while only allowing 2 to advance to the finals where they beat CUSE 6-5 in penalty kicks.  Congratulations to the boys & coach/ trainer Jason Arszman!

Mead Cup Champions
The CU Sycamore Mason U9 boys River Plate team picked up another tournament title by winning the Five Star division of the Mead Cup in Beavercreek.  The boys advanced to the finals with wins over the Challenger Crew Jrs. Black, OP Fire, MI Wolves & MI Jags before defeating PSG MI FC Nova 05 Black 8-1 to secure the championship.  Congrats to the boys & coach/ trainer Jason Arszman! 
CU Sycamore Mason U10 Girls Sunderland - Wednesday, September 11, 2013
The CU Sycamore Mason U10 Sunderland team has had a great start to the 2013 Fall season winning three Gold Bracket Championships in three weekends.  First Winning the Cincinnati United Cup - Gold Bracket going 4-0-0 (GF-19 / GA - 6). Second, Winning the Adidas Thunder United Cup - Gold Bracket going 4-0-0 (GF-13 / GA - 5). Finally, Winning the Tennessee Cup- Gold Bracket going 4-0-0 (GF-17 / GA - 1).  Congratulations to the girls, coaches and trainers on an incredible start to the season.
