CU Goalkeeper Training Program
Club goalkeeper training will occur on a regular basis throughout the season. Each training session will be 60-70 minutes. Players will be divided by age and ability. For youth keepers (U8/U9/U10), players should not be dedicated goalkeepers. Each member of the team will experience one goalkeeper practice a season. Players will rotate through the position in games. At U11 and up, goalkeepers are encouraged to become specialized. The cost of goalkeeper training will continue to be within the club fee.

Training Philosophy
Our philosophy at Cincinnati United is to teach and coach our young goalkeepers to become masters of the fundamentals of goalkeeping. At the same time, goalkeepers experience a high level of competition and training driven by a staff of former collegiate and professional goalkeepers and coaches.  This is obtained in an atmosphere that fosters good sportsmanship and leadership on and off the field. In addition, today’s goalkeeper has to be technically and tactically sound with their foot skills. Cincinnati United will train all goalkeepers to use their feet in team training. All Cincinnati United goalkeepers will be expected to play as sweeper-keepers. The goalkeeper coaches will be responsible for the instruction of the CU Goalkeeper Curriculum throughout the season.
