Brian is currently the head coach of the CUP U23 girls’ team, a team composed of Division I standouts from across the region that competed in the Regional Championships this past summer. Andy Szucs
  • NCSAA Advanced National Diploma
  • NSCAA National Diploma
  • USSF National Youth License
  • OSYSA ODP District Staff
  • Former Assistant Coach, Wilmington College Men’s Soccer
  • Former College Player - Wilmington College
  • NCAA All-American
  • NCAA Academic All-American

Andy’s role within Cincinnati United is to direct the Lakota site (Butler County). He is responsible for the U8-U18 age groups on both the boys and girls side of CU-Lakota. In addition, he also helps to manage the club’s recreational outreach program, which includes clinics and resources for the community’s surrounding recreational soccer programs.

Andy has been a life long fan of the beautiful game. He has played the game since the age of six years old; progressing from recreational soccer to select soccer, high school soccer to college soccer, and eventually playing semi-pro soccer with the Dayton Gems after his college career. Along with being named a three-year captain at Wilmington and MVP of the Heartland Conference, Andy was also selected as an NCAA All-American and Academic All-American in 1999 and 2000. He lead his teams to three conference championships and two NCAA tournament appearances during his career and was selected to play in the All-Ohio all-star game his senior year. Andy finished his career at Wilmington as one of the all-time leaders in minutes played and games started as well as 13th on the list of all-time leaders in assists with 28 for his career.

Much like his playing career, his coaching career started early as he trained his younger brother’s U10 team while in high school. His passion for coaching would grow from there. During his college career he coached and trained the U15-U16 Gunners FC teams from Dayton, OH. After finishing his degree at Wilmington College, Andy began training teams in Lakota United Soccer Club (formerly Lakota Soccer Club) and has been part of the club ever since. In addition to his duties with LUSC, Andy was also an assistant coach for five years with the Wilmington College Men’s Soccer team from 2002-2006, helping the team advance to an OAC Championship and the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2004. He was awarded as the OAC Assistant Coach of the Year for 2004.

In March of 2007, Andy became the Assistant Director of Coaching for LUSC and was recently named as the Director of Coaching for Cincinnati United-Lakota.

Mike Duncan
  • NSCAA National Diploma
  • USSF B License
  • Masters of Secondary Education - grades 7-12, Math concentration
  • Teacher - Indian Hill Middle School, Cincinnnati, Ohio

Mike serves as the Director of Coaching for the Cincinnati United Sycamore competitive side. His primary focus will be the girls U8 through U18 competitive teams for CU Sycamore. He will also coach/train with our U12 boys CUP teams.

During mid 90’s, Lara and Mike worked together coaching a select team of girls through Sycamore Arsenal. Also at this time, he received his Masters in Education from Miami University and accepted a job teaching at Finneytown Middle School where he took over the Finneytown varsity girls soccer head coach position for two years. Mike’s education background and experience with these two teams led him to start the U8 program for the Arsenal Club. Realizing his need for more soccer education to develop these teams, Mike started attending USSF and NSCAA coaching courses where he earned his USSF “B” license and NSCAA “National” diploma. Mike has since brought 5 teams (3 from the boys side and 2 from the girls side) from U8 through to U11 and beyond and all 5 teams have made it to the state cup semi-finals or finals in their first year participating. His latest team of U13 boys which has moved from Sycamore Arsenal onto the CUP realm has experienced unprecedented success. In 3 years of participating at the 11 v 11 format, the team has failed only twice to make it to the semi-finals or finals of the numerous tournaments they have participated in. The team was a state-cup semi-finalist and finalist two years running and has participated only in the top divisions of tournaments throughout the Midwest.

Mike also spent a year with the ODP program heading the coaching and selection of 3 age groups into the state pool. Although he enjoys ODP and would like to continue working with that select group of players, Mike is a family man at heart and has 4 players of his own (his 4 kids who are very involved in youth sports especially CUP soccer) that are now absorbing his time. Educating kids is at the center of Mike’s life. Whether it is teaching math or coaching soccer, he believes that his sole purpose is to create a love for the subject matter. He believes that in order to be successful at any endeavor you have to be a life long learner and plans to achieve his USSF “A” license within the next couple of years.
